iLep – A Modular Effect App With “Real Musicians” In Mind
|
iLep – a modular app for live effects – is now available in the iTunes store for pre-ordering.
The pre-order price is $4.99, which is half of the release price $9.99. Release date is July the 3rd.
What is iLep?
iLep is a modular effect app for iPad with “real musicians” in mind, who create additional sound effects with the app and control several important parameters with a midi foot pedal or another controller. iLep was originally designed (in Max-MSP) by avant-garde composer Thomas Kessler and programmer Thomas Seelig, later joined by Oliver Gretschke (Elastic Drums).
Here is a video with the cellist Schloss Mirabell exploring the app:
The app also works like any iOS effect app in an Audiobus or IAA setup, or standalone with using the (built-in) microphone or test signals. The app also comes with a great tutorial, explaining the core features step by step.
