Loopcloud 8 Dumps Tag Hunting and Lands on iOS

Fab, October 22, 2026October 22, 2026

Sample subscription services have spent the last five years trying to solve an ironic problem: having millions of sounds available at your fingertips often paralyzes the writing process instead of speeding it up. You start hunting for a snare, end up three hours deep into obscure Foley subfolders, and by the time you look up, whatever spark started the track has vanished. With Loopcloud 8, Loopmasters tries to tackle that fatigue head-on. Rather than simply stacking another million one-shots onto their four-million-sample pile, this update retools how producers search, match, and manipulate audio across their entire storage drive.

The platform has undergone steady reinvention since Matt Pelling and the Loopmasters team reacquired the company from Beatport. When we examined Loopcloud’s mid-2026 update, the focus rested on native Apple Silicon performance and Jamahook’s initial harmonic-movement engine. Loopcloud 8 pushes that architecture significantly further, introducing two headline creative engines dubbed Inspire and Listen, alongside prompt-based natural language searching and a long-awaited mobile companion app.

Generating Ideas and Hunting Chords: Inspire and Listen

The most immediate change comes in how the desktop app handles blank DAW sessions. Inspire operates as an arrangement sketchpad: pick a genre, and the engine assembles a coordinated stack of loops, chords, and drum stems to get an idea off the ground. It is an algorithmic nudge rather than an auto-producer, giving you editable components that you can rip apart or re-route.

Listen operates at the opposite end of the session timeline, addressing the perennial struggle of slotting complimentary elements into an existing arrangement. Instead of relying on static key tags, Listen analyzes your project audio using Loopcloud Intelligence to detect actual chord progressions and transient positions. It then scours both the cloud catalogue and your own local sample folders to recommend counter-melodies, basslines, or vocal textures that align harmonically with what you already tracked.

For producers who import gigabytes of personal field recordings and third-party sample packs, that local matching is vital. Sample managers often break down when confronted with sloppy file naming or unlabelled key signatures. Running harmonic detection across user libraries removes that friction, though how gracefully the algorithm parses dense jazz chords or heavily distorted synths remains a real studio stress test.

Natural Language Search and Mobile Sync

Ditching rigid tag trees is the other major operational shift, echoing the industry-wide move we saw with Iced Audio’s AudioCortex 2 Nova toward organizing sample collections by acoustic intuition rather than folder hierarchies. The new Advanced Search lets producers type conversational descriptions directly into the query bar. Typing phrases like “warm analog bassline,” “vinyl-crackle boom bap drums,” or “Boards of Canada-style synths” parses contextual adjectives and artist aesthetics instead of demanding strict folder navigation. You can subsequently filter those matches by key, BPM, and instrument category.

Loopmasters has also addressed studio portability with its first dedicated iOS app. Producers can run the Inspire engine, audition sounds, and assemble custom sound collections directly on an iPad or iPhone during a commute. Those collections synchronize to your Loopmasters account in the cloud, appearing ready in your desktop DAW session when you return to the studio. An Android edition is currently in development.

Expanded FX Chains, Instruments, and Flip Presets

Beyond search algorithms, the underlying production tools have received notable mechanical updates. As noted in our Loopcloud 7 review, the built-in sound-shaping tools prevent producers from burning subscription credits on raw samples that need extensive corrective processing. Loopcloud 8 expands that built-in processing chain with five new audio effects:

Gator: A rhythmic step sequencer with swing parameters, tied triggers, and randomization controls. Looper: Tempo-synced looping with variable playback directions and gating. Utility: An all-in-one corrective tool combining gain staging, stereo panning, width expansion, and a mono-bass crossover. Chorus: A dedicated multi-voice modulation unit for stereo widening. * Bitcrush: Gritty digital reduction and sample-rate decimation.

New automation curve envelopes let you modulate these parameters across sample playback before exporting audio. Meanwhile, Flip—the internal sound-reconstruction and chopping tool—doubles its factory preset bank to 2,000 distinct configurations tailored for specific instrument classes.

The companion instruments see corresponding updates. PLAY now accepts direct drag-and-drop sample imports from local sessions alongside its five newly integrated effects, effectively turning the plugin into a quick playback sampler for custom one-shots. DRUM upgrades its automated pattern generator to read instrument and genre tags directly, avoiding incongruous drum mappings when randomizing rhythmic parts. The bundled MIDI library now spans 125,000 files with smart previewing that automatically pairs drum MIDI with drum kits and keyboard progressions with polyphonic pianos.

Subscriptions, Courses, and Free Monthly Plugins

Loopmasters continues to bundle non-sample educational value into its pricing tiers. Every active subscriber now receives full access to Producertech’s video academy, unlocking over 400 hours of production masterclasses taught by working engineers.

Additionally, Loopcloud 8 introduces a recurring monthly plugin perk. Through partnerships with developers including Baby Audio, Tone Empire, Beatsurfing, and Rhodes, subscribers receive up to 12 free perpetual software plugins per year, distributed once a month. Annual subscribers can claim all twelve titles at any point across their billing term.

Inevitably, the update highlights the ongoing tension around software subscriptions. If you pause your monthly payments, you retain the audio samples you downloaded, but access to cloud sync, continuous Producertech courses, and the expanded plugin perks halts. For high-output studios that lean heavily on auditioning loops in sync with active DAW arrangements, the £7.95 entry point remains competitive against Splice. For casual beatmakers who only produce occasionally, committing to an ongoing subscription requires careful accounting.

Pricing and Availability

Loopcloud 8 is available now as a standalone desktop application and VST/AU/AAX plugin suite for macOS and Windows, with the mobile companion app available on the iOS App Store.

Subscription pricing tiers start at: Monthly: £7.95 / $10.95 / €9.95 / ¥1,195 per month Annual: Includes four months free when billed annually

Existing and new subscribers can access Loopcloud 8 immediately. A 14-day free trial is available, with Loopmasters resetting trial eligibility for all past users.
