Splice is a cloud platform for music creation, collaboration and sharing, created in 2013 by Distributed Creation, a New York based company.
It features a desktop app, that syncs your projects, samples, and presets with the cloud. It also boasts some advanced online collaborations options. The DAWs currently supported are Ableton Live, FL Studio, Apple Logic Pro X and Garageband. The service is still in beta though, so expect it to be compatible with other DAWs in the next few months.
Splice offers also a plugin store & manager, that basically makes life easier for users collaborating on a project (when user A has added a plugin that user B doesn’t have).
We’ll cover Splice extensively, but right now they running an interesting promotion that you do not want to miss. Here’s the spiel…Just invite 2 friends to join Splice and you’ll get Audio Damage Basic synth ($39 value) FREE!
If you are familiar with ANR, you’ll know that we are big fans of Audio Damage’s peculiar stuff (see our Audio Damage reviews).
Don’t be fooled by the plugin’s name. While created to fill a surprising hole in the synth market and to be “an inexpensive, simple 3-osc mono-synth that followed the classic subtractive style”, Basic is a visually enticing and quite flexible instrument.
This can be your chance to discover Splice and get a free, cool synth. What’s there to lose?
