BLEASS, known for its clever plugins and iOS apps (such as Delay and Reverb) has just released the BLEASS Arpeggiator, a creative tool available for both desktop and iOS platforms. This new product takes the melodic power of a classic synth arpeggiator and supercharges it with modern features, making it an interesting tool for musicians and producers.
A New Level of Creativity and Experimentation
The BLEASS Arpeggiator is designed for creativity and experimentation. It extends beyond the clichéd up-and-down monophonic patterns of an old-school synth arpeggiator, offering polyrhythms, polyphony, and a large collection of highly configurable arpeggio patterns. The plugin recognizes incoming performance controllers and includes a pair of XY pads, a pair of advanced LFOs, and BLEASS’ signature Motion Sequencer, which can modulate the arpeggiator’s parameters, unlocking a deep level of creativity.
The Mini FM Synth In BLEASS Arpeggiator
The BLEASS Arpeggiator can be used to control other synths (and that should be your first choice). That said, it also offers a simple built-in sound generator, a cut-down yet great-sounding FM synth that’s perfect for creating bright, sweet, and punchy sounds that work well with an arpeggio line.
BLEASS Arpeggiator Hands-On Impressions
After spending a few hours with the new BLEASS Arpeggiator iOS app on my iPad, I can confidently say that BLEASS has once again delivered a top-notch product. The app’s layout, with its intuitive top tabs and well-sized controls, makes it a powerful yet non-intimidating tool. You can easily learn its features through trial and error, eliminating the need for a manual. And it’s fun!
Modulation options are really wild. I enjoyed tweaking the two versatile and assignable LFOs, and the brilliant built-in Motion Sequencer, which allows patterns of values to be sequenced and then used to modulate up to two of the plugin’s parameters. Plus live performers have a dedicated tab with the classic X-Y control pads.
What sets the BLEASS Arpeggiator apart is its flexibility, which extends far beyond the capabilities of classic arpeggiators. This app can serve as a ‘generative’ companion for your synths, inspiring new ideas on the fly. It’s not just an arpeggiator; it’s a creative tool that can breathe new life into your music. Totally recommended if you’re a sucker for arpeggios or if you’re just looking for some inspiration!
