Dave Smith Instruments & 8Dio today announced the Sequential Prophet X, a powerful fusion of samples-plus-synthesis and Dave Smith’s most ground-breaking evolution of the Prophet yet.
At its heart, it’s a bi-timbral, 8-voice-stereo (16-voice mono) synth with a newly developed sound engine that powers two simultaneous 16-bit, 48kHz sample-based instruments plus two high-resolution digital oscillators — all processed through true stereo analog filters and custom modelled vintage effects.

The Prophet X contains over 150 GB of custom deep-samples from Academy Award-winning sample developers 8Dio – and all of the powerful synthesis tools you’ve come to expect from Dave, the Prophet X has a musical voice and soul uniquely its own.
The Prophet X also comes with 50GB of additional sample space for exclusive Add-Ons by 8Dio.
The first official Add-On from 8Dio is a deep-sampled Prophet 5 – in fact the last production model ever made and Dave’s own unit. They sampled every single patch, so you can truly experience this legendary synthesizer through the true analog filters on the Prophet X.
The second official Add-On is a deep-sampled CP70 and Super Grand Piano. All recorded in exquisite detail and with multiple articulations, microphone positions etc.
