Soundmachines (arches) Now on Kickstarter – One Controller To Rule Them All

arches kickstarter
Soundmachines, the Italian company known for its innovative touch interfaces and synth modules, has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for (arches), a powerful controller surface.

We’ve already mentioned (arches) a few times here on ANR, and we’re pretty excited to see it coming to the market soon.

What’s (arches)?

In the company’s words, (arches) is a tactile centerpiece for your modular/hybrid electronic music production and performance setup. In our own words, it’s potentially a killer controller that could make modular systems (and/or other electronic instruments) much more fun to play with.

(arches) is built on the foundation of previous Soundmachines touch-based products (such as LS1lightstrip and LP1lightplane) and offers plenty of control options – Sliders, lightstrips (with rec/loop capabilities), lightplanes/thumbpads with z-axis sensitivity and a row of pressure sensitive buttons. Thanks to the underlying technology, (arches) easily allows you to create keyboards, sequencers, arpeggiators.

Connectivity

This new tactile controllers literally connects to everything you might have in your studio, with 30+ CV/GATE outputs and full MIDI connectivity (DIN, USB and wireless MIDI over BLE).

(arches) can work as a standalone controller (also for DAW users) and it fits right into your Eurorack system (it takes 84hp).

Price and availability

If you would like to support this campaign and be one of the first (arches) users, you will have to pledge 750€. With an extra 100€ (so for 850€) you get to spend a full day with the makers, with a private crash course on (arches) and… “a great night out at a seafood restaurant by the Adriatic Sea in Italy (transfer costs not included)”. Estimated delivery: July 2018.
