A few months ago Teenage Engineering announced that a new OP-1 OS was in final beta. Among the listed improvements and new features:
– New (warmer) synth presets
– A new sequencer mode called Arpeggio
– Tape loops with crossfades (and more)
We had a chance to see the new version at Musikmesse (check out our preview of the OP-1 update) and since then we’ve been looking forward to the actual release.
It looks like the Teenage Engineering guys are working hard on fine-tuning the details of this update but if you’re really eager to try out the new features and sounds, in this Reddit thread you will find a link to a beta version.
Needless to say, while the process should be harmless (and several users have successfully updated their OP-1), this is one of those ‘try it at your risk’ things. Teenage Engineering doesn’t support nor endorse this privately shared file.
Enjoy it and let us know your thoughts.
