Sonic Arts Waterford is an Experimental Electronic Arts festival, born in 2013 to create cultural links and artist exchanges between Waterford, Ireland and other digital artistic hubs around the world. The founders wanted to create opportunities for Irish artists as well as exposing a national audience to the work of visiting experts in the areas of experimental electronic music and arts.
As well as live performances, the aim is to provide workshops, installations and talks in the various fields of experimental electronic and Visual Arts. This year the festival takes place 23 and 24 September, 2016 in SOMA Contemporary Gallery, Waterford, Ireland.
How to apply? In their words “Sonic Dreams is a LIVE electronic arts and music festival with an emphasis on LIVE Experimental, Ambient, Sound Art and Techno music as well as electronic installations and visuals. As such, we don’t accept applications from DJ’s. We love DJ’s but it’s not what our festival is about. We also don’t have facilities to work with bands (traditional guitar, bass and drums, etc) unfortunately as set-up/take-down times are too long).”
