

Released in 1971, the Eventide Instant Phaser began the studio effects revolution by successfully simulating tape flanging, an effect that’s been at the core of legendary albums for the last five decades (Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”, anyone?).
Eventide have now announced the release of the Instant Phaser Mk II plug-in. The Instant Phaser Mk II delivers the original sonic character (thanks to an emulation of the imprecision of the values of the original analog components) and retains the same look and feel of the first rackmount electronic effects box to ever hit the studio.

As components age, their values drift. In order to match the sound of an Instant Phaser that has been sitting in a rack for all those years, they decided to add an “Age” feature. Simply set the “Age” to “0” to mimic a brand new, perfectly tuned Phaser, or dial in the effect of time passing. Crank the age to “100” and hear how the unit will sound long after the last glacier has melted.

The Instant Phaser Mk II plug-in is available for Mac & PC and
is compatible with popular DAWs, in AAX, VST2, and AU formats for an introductory price* of just $37. After February 28, 2019, the price of the Instant Phaser Mk II software will be $129.
