iZotope, a subsidiary of Native Instruments, has unveiled Plasma, an innovative adaptive tube saturator plugin that sets a new standard in audio processing. Released on September 12, 2024, Plasma is the inaugural offering in iZotope’s new Catalyst Series, a line of easy-to-use plugins designed to quickly solve difficult mix problems.
Groundbreaking Flux Saturation Technology
Plasma features state-of-the-art “Flux Saturation” technology, which intelligently applies tube saturation precisely where and when it’s needed to enhance your music. Unlike traditional saturators that apply a static effect, Plasma’s dynamic processing identifies which frequency areas require boosting and applies saturation selectively, offering a lighter touch for consistently balanced mixes and masters.

- Character Settings: Producers can fine-tune Plasma’s adaptive saturation with adjustable Attack and Release settings, plus an Overdrive fader to add extra texture and crunch.
- Channel Modes and Frequency Handles: Plasma offers precise control over saturation application, focusing on specific frequencies, mid/side channels, or transient/sustain elements of the audio.
- Extensive Presets: With 49 professionally crafted presets, Plasma simplifies the mixing process, providing quick starting points for both individual elements and the entire master bus.
