Puremagnetik Is Now Also An Experimental Music Label and Has Two Free Plugins For You!

We’ve recently featured Puremagnetik’s latest plugin, mentioning the clear musician-driven spirit that permeates the NY-based company. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the brand has just launched an experimental music label with 2 releases and some free plugins for music producers!

Both releases are available digitally and on limited edition cassettes on Bandcamp.

PM01 – Larum, Into a Bright Land
Designed and composed in detail by PM founder and lead developer Micah Frank, under the moniker Larum, Into a Bright Land instantly envelopes the listener in a warm narrative of lush tape loops and textures that weave a tapestry of field recordings spanning many of California’s natural areas. The production process was further augmented using a variety of analog synthesizers, tape machines and manipulated using custom code in Csound.
Puremagnetik also developed a texture generator tool, Expanse, now available as a free plugin in AU and VST formats. Expanse is a noise generator that can be spectrally blurred, pitched, and filtered. It is available for download at: http://puremagnetik.com/expanse

PM02 – BlankFor.ms, Works For Tape And Piano
Works For Tape And Piano immerses the audience in a sonic landscape where sustained piano tones bend and flutter as light travels through a prism. The centerpiece of this recordings creation is a tape machine, which Tyler Gilmore aka BlankFor.ms uses to capture his world and warp it.
BlankFor.ms also often releases music on his Instagram page where he has grown an impressive and dedicated fan base.

Free Plugins
To complement the release Puremagnetik created two free plugins, inspired by the above albums themselves .

Driftmaker is a delay disintegration device that parses incoming audio, recalls certain parts and adds analog deterioration to the signal.

It is a free plugin in Audio Units and VST formats, available for download at: http://puremagnetik.com/driftmaker
