If you’re still on the fence about BLOCKS, check out this recent performance by Deru and Telefon Tel Aviv. They perform a deeply atmospheric and meditative soundscape with a setup of two Lightpad Blocks, a Loop Block, a Seaboard RISE, and Max.
From custom Max patches to the three-Block configuration, everything is completely personalized for their individual setup and sound. And a lot of that richly expressive sound is controlled by a compact BLOCKS kit that has a smaller footprint than a laptop.
You can also read an interview with composer-producer Benjamin Wynn, aka Deru, to learn more about how he creates film and TV scores with MPE instruments like the Seaboard RISE and BLOCKS.
