Unfiltered Audio has released Battalion, a hybrid drum synthesizer and sampler that aims to provide a comprehensive solution for modern beat production. This plugin combines the capabilities of iconic drum synths with the flexibility of sampling, allowing users to generate beats from scratch or process their own samples.
Key Features
Synth Section
The synth section is the heart of Battalion, featuring 20 distinct synthesis engines that cover a wide range of tones and timbres. From classic 80s drum machine sounds to modern clicks and cuts, Battalion offers a diverse palette of synth sounds tailored for drum production.
Sampling Capabilities
Battalion’s sample section is a dedicated space for loading, playing, and modifying samples. It offers four sample modes: Classic, Phase Warp, Cloner, and Granular, providing various ways to manipulate and transform your samples.
Blend Synth and Samples
One of Battalion’s standout features is the ability to seamlessly blend synth and sample generators using the on-board BLEND slider. This allows users to create unique combinations and explore uncharted sonic territories.
Sequencing and Arrangement
Battalion includes an intuitive graphic sequencer for arranging beats. Users can create patterns from scratch or adapt presets to their needs, making it easy to craft compelling rhythmic combinations.
Performance Mode
For live performances and DJ sets, Battalion offers a performance mode that allows users to trigger, loop, and manipulate sounds on the fly, enabling moments of inspiration and spontaneity.
Sound Shaping
Battalion provides a wealth of essential and experimental sound-shaping parameters in the Tone, Modulation, Envelope, and LFO sections. This allows users to enhance and radically transform their beats, ensuring a high degree of creative control.
