Win iZotope Nectar Elements!
|
Nectar Elements is iZotope’s newest mixing plug-in. Using the new Vocal Assistant and some machine learning tricks, Nectar Elements analyzes and adapts to your vocal sound, taking the guesswork out of placing your vocal in the mix and letting you make your vocals stand out in just a few clicks.
In our recent iZotope Nectar Elements review we found this software suite an impressive third iteration to the series. Its machine learning technology is able to produce some effective comprehensive processing to vocals so… how about a free copy?
That’s right, we teamed up with iZotope to offer two of our readers a free copy of Nectar Elements (reg. price $129)!
UPDATE: the competition has expired. We contacted the winners, Rene and Asahi, via email. Thanks everyone for joining us and keep an eye on ANR for our next giveaways!

Glue and compression are the trickiest things for me…
The trickiest thing with vocals in a mix that I have to deal with is making sure the vocals sound even in volume.
Sometimes you fix this with a basic compressor, sometimes with some gain riding and sometimes the EQ is the troublemaker.
Vocals + beats are often a problem here, I truly hope this plugin helps!
I find it hard to get the right balance when using subtractive EQ techniques. I think I’m overdoing it 🙁
The main problem when working with vocals is that I sing … well, let’s call it “not very good” 🙂
So the main task is to do so that it does not sound like a desperate shriek of a cat whose owners decided to put him on a vegetarian diet.
I even tried to replace the vocal with a Vocaloid (a bad idea). By the way, one of the problems with the Vocaloid (besides the obvious artificiality of sounding) is that the vocals are lost in the mix. I wonder if Nectar Elements can cope with this problem?
Ok, now seriously. The trickiest thing for me is finding trouble frequencies. I think this is a matter of experience. Although maybe the problem is that I’m not a technical person and this part of music production is the most difficult for me 🙂 Therefore, I’m very glad that the software manufacturers began to use the elements of machine learning! Ease of use is very important to me.
Thanks for this giveaway by the way, I wish I could win, looks like a pretty cool plugin!
Trying to blend dry vocals into the mix without swamping them in reverb and FX! Nightmare.
I want to win!

Sweet giveaway! (Nectar…sweet…get it?)
The trickiest things with vocals for me are getting rid of background noise and getting them to just sit right in the mix. I still haven’t quite mastered that yet. 🙂
Trickiest for me is getting the vocals rightly balanced compared to the music.
A common problem for me is that the vocals sound too sterile. I’m using compressors+ reverb and some other effects but still can’t get that pro sound.
Finding the right female backing vocals.
I find it the trickiest to mix the vocal standout from the rest of the instrumentation. Nectar Elements would help sooooo much!!!
The biggest problem I have with mixing my vocals is to make the vocals pop out in the mix!! I think Nectar Elements will help me a lot with this 🙂
I just find vocals difficult to balance in a track. Maybe this plugin will help me to finally produce a vocal track I’m happy with.
Listening to the sound of my own voice
Trickiest thing is de-essing without killing the dynamics around the same frequency
Most difficult thing when dealing when dealing with a vocal mix is listening to the sound of my own voice.
The trickiest thing I face is dynamically making my vocals sounds even.
Getting the vocals to be bright without being too sibilant. Some vocalists can really make it difficult on the ears!
I see a special advantage in this plugin. These are different modules in one box. I find it convenient to handle vocals so that to do surgical interventions in different modules simultaneously. This makes it possible to hear the result as a whole.
The trickiest thing for me is getting the vocals to sound professional. I haven’t got the best mic or equipment but I try my best.

Resonances and harshness in vocals sure are the trickiest!
