GR-1 Granular Synth At Superbooth 2018: New Features, Future Plans and More [VIDEO]
|At Superbooth 2018 we spent some time with the nice people from Tasty Chips Electronics (see video below), the makers of the GR-1, a hardware granular synth.
After the successful Kickstarter campaign, we’ve been keeping an eye on this inspiring desktop synth and its software updates (the latest firmware added MPE support, yay!), and we’re looking forward to adding it to our setup.
While it’s true that you can get fantastic results using granular VSTs (like the upcoming Quanta from Audio Damage) or brilliant iPad apps (Borderlands Granular, anyone?), at ANR we strongly believe that dedicated, well-designed hardware instruments can have an edge on them (less distractions=more productive).
In the video below you’ll find an overview of the GR-1, of its latest features, a quick demonstration of its live recording capabilities and some hints about a future add-on.
We’ll have more about Tasty Chips Electronics and their GR-1 soon, stay tuned.
