Elektron Octatrack II – Better Screen, More Buttons, Sturdier Than Ever

Elektron just announced the Octatrack II, the version 2 of their popular flagship sampler.

Given the recent release of the smaller (and considerably more affordable) Digitakt, we didn’t see this coming so early – but we’re happy to see it’s actually happening.
It’s an evolution rather than a revolution, but in my opinion the Octatrack didn’t need one anyway.

What’s New
In Elektron’s words, Octatrack MKII is a better version of itself, boasting high quality buttons and hi-res encoders, a crisp OLED screen with fantastic viewing angles, a professional contactless crossfader and an increased count of dedicated buttons.

Especially the new screen and the extra buttons are a welcome improvement in terms of workflow. After all, this is a performance sampler.
Overbridge support is not listed in the new features, but according to Elektron’s guru Dataline, is “planned”.
