I’ve basically quit my gaming career once I left my beloved ZX Spectrum behind (yes, I’m that old!), so I was unaware of what Minecraft really was before watching Aaron Higgins’ presentation.
Aaron is the author of Blam, a mod for Minecraft that allows you to explore the widely popular video game with major enhancements for making music. In short, with Blam you can create a fully working 3D visual representation of a synth, through a series of blocks (think of them as modules). Oscillators, filters, sequencers, envelopes, effects, it’s all there.
Blam is compatible with the desktop version of Minecraft for Mac and Windows. You can download it here.
Why I liked it Do I really need to explain? Oh boy, this could be dangerous. If you don’t hear from me in the next few weeks, you know what I’ll be doing…
