Sonic Joy Awards 2016 -The Best Fun Boxes Of The Year

Arturia DrumBrute

While other companies kept reissuing bonsai-modeled versions of their classics, Arturia came up with the DrumBrute, a new drum synth with an interesting set of features and a very affordable price ($499 / 449€).

The Arturia DrumBrute is a classic analog-meets-modern-sequencing-and-connectivity beast. Analog sounds, the well-known Steiner-Parker filter, 64 step sequencer (with randomness and support for tracks of different length – polyrhythm, anyone?), plenty of connectivity options. Last but not least, it’s as intuitive as it gets, with parameters and features right at your fingertips.

Time will tell if the DrumBrute will become a classic. In the meantime, for us it’s a keeper!
