Sonic Joy Awards 2016 -The Best Fun Boxes Of The Year

Synthstrom Deluge

This one was a real surprise. Made in New Zealand and introduced for the first time at Music Tech Fest Berlin this year, it’s an all-in-one, stand-alone, portable synthesizer (subtractive + FM), sequencer and sampler “designed for the creation, performance and improvisation of electronic music”.

Among other things, it also features an FX section, timestretching for samples, a speaker and a microphone input.

The Deluge has the potential to be the inspiring modern instrument that many electronic and DAWless musicians need. The first batch of pre-orders is closed, but you should keep an eye on the next one.
