One of the coolest summer events will be happening in Italy during July. It’s called the Festival of Research for Contemporary Arts or FRAC.
Located in a small mountain village at the historic Renaissance Palace of Aieta (in Calabria, 2 hours south of Naples), FRAC is a quite unique festival. Being its first edition, it aspires to become a meeting new contemporary arts and the territory. It will feature contemporary art ranging from visual arts, performing arts, live audio and video performances. In addition it will feature live electronic music from world famous artist.
The festival will be held for 3 days starting July 24 thru Jul 26. One of the things that sets this festival apart is it will have free workshops from the artists that will be performing. The workshops will cover a range of topics including sound design and performing arts. Each evening you will have access to the exhibits that will be located inside the palace. The live performances will be held starting at 9pm. To finish off the evening there will be DJ sets running until 6am.
